Pretty lights

Amanda is overwhelmed by the lights

Crazy light room!

Cutiepie Amanda matching with the coloured walls

Gorgeous strips of moving, reflective coloured metal

Household cups/jugs/jars lit up with a message in morse code

Moving pieces of coloured plastic (I want this in my living room?)

Amanda: "hey, you should make this your profile picture"
Me: "shut up and look sad"

Back into the light room (we loved it)

The lighting in the room was SO GOOD (fashun bloggers u need to get ON DIS)

Selfies in front of the light wall !

We were craving iced tea and something sweet (ps the citron cake is amazing?!)

THURSDAY (19/3/15)

  • Amanda and I have wanted to go to Harajuku Gyoza ever since reading about it on Broadsheet (best website) and also passing it on the bus ride from Watsons Bay back into the city.
  • We were greeted by the cutest girl working there, actually, everything and everyone in the restaurant was so damn cute ! The logo especially ahhh <3_<3
  • We decided to order from the special lunch set menu and I got a beef gyudon (delicious + super saucy mmm), pork gyoza (bloody amazing ! the filling is SO good) and an iced green tea (my favourite kind aka unsweetened).
  • Definitely coming back to try ALL the gyoza and also the dessert gyoza (salted caramel ! rhubarb and custard ! nutella and banan !)
  • Next stop was the MCA (which I have somehow never been to and Amanda somehow always goes to).
  • Overall, the MCA was RAD ! There were a tonne of installations involving lights (aka my fave) so of course lots of pictures/selfies/videos were taken.
  • Favourite room would have to be the giant wall of white lights, it provided such amazing lighting for selfies (it just makes you look REALLY good okay haha)! Except you couldn't take a picture with you right in front of the wall because man it back-lit you like crazy haha
  • Of course we also had to make a pit-stop at the infamous mirror with the quote (I swear everyone and their mother has taken an instagram/fb profile pic of it :P)
  • PSA: the MCA giftshop is also amazing, it has the craziest knick-knacks of things you wouldn't think you need but YOU DO (e.g. cloud/rainbow shoe laces, DIY clocks, kewpie dolls etc)
  • Because we never stop eating we decided to go to Laduree for some swanky high tea (only because we got rejected at the Tea Cosy, gdi they close too early!)
  • We each had an iced tea (not too sure what mine had..green tea ? bergamot ? but it was damn good! and also unsweetened, the way I like it!) and we split the citron cake. I am normally not a fan of citrus anything but maaaan this was a moist and delicious cake!
  • Afterwards I dropped Amanda off at her work and proceeded to go to the American Apparel 90% off SALE (haul will be the next post!)
