Lunch at Watsons Bay Beach Club
Beer Battered Fish + Chips w/ tartare sauce || Salt & Pepper Squid w/ chilli green shallots + coriander || Itsy Bitsy Bikini cocktail (vodka, vermouth, lychee juice, apple juice and elderflower)
Walking along The Gap trail
Getting San Francisco vibes from the houses along the coast
Laughing like it's no big deal but secretly terrified of falling into the ocean
Big oceans both terrify and intrigue me
Amanda chillin (BUT ALSO SECRETLY TERRIFIED)
Being twinsies with Amanda (feat. stripes, pigtails and peace signs)
10/3/15 TUESDAY
- Amanda rarely has a day off work and I just haven't been working so we (well, me...) planned to go to Watson's Bay and abuse our Opal cards by going on every single mode of transport.
- The weather was very strange that day, the iphone app said it was definitely going to rain but looking outside my window, it was DECEPTIVELY sunny.
- We had planned to have lunch at the Watsons Bay Beach Club but ALAS our stomachs were ridic hungry and Amanda's suggestion was to go eat some pie. It was my first time having Pie Face (Amanda was shocked), and it was a goood first time (steak + mushroom mmm, but man it is hella hard to eat).
- The pie did nothing to subside our hunger and the whole time on the ferry we just moaned about how hungry we were...
- FINALLY, we got to the Beach Club and proceeded to order TOO MUCH FOOD.
- The cocktail was D E L I C I O U S, however, the guy who made our drink decided to fill the entire carafe with ice (!!!) which meant there was very little of the actual drink. We were very angry with this, however, we were both much too wimpy to tell him this and proceeded to just drink our delicious drink whilst complaining (#storyofmylife.)
- The squid was so tender and crispy (+ the sauce was amazing) and the fish was cooked to perfection (#foodbloggerterms?).
- After falling into a food coma we decided it was time to walk it off.
- The Gap trail is a pretty short walk which ended us somehow walking to Vaucluse (?!). Along the way we passed lots of pretty little houses which all had insane views of the ocean. Many dogs and children were also seen and we also stumbled into a playground with an odd placement of the swings (picture a circle with 5 swings and everyone swings towards the middle.. Perfect for you and 4 friends..Except one has to be a baby because there are only 4 normal seats and 1 baby seat...)
- We ended up climbing down to a ledge and just chilling there for a couple of hours. Odd things we saw included: weird goblin hole that might have led into someone's house(?), a man fishing in very dangerous waters (JUST WHY?), a 5 storey house that we couldn't work out whether it belonged to one person or many people and a possibly communal swimming pool that we should go into next time.
- We ended the day by catching a bus (from a bus stop opposite the cemetery) which took us through all the Bays (Double/Rose) before finally reaching the city (longest bus ride of my life).
amazing views of san fran, p.s that food looks delicious! X
