Being a tourist in my own city (DAY 1)

My "little sister" Nina from Melbourne planned an impromptu 3 day Sydney trip over the Easter break. We stayed in the Swissotel which was super convenient (right opposite my work LOL) and had great service (the cleaners lined up our shoes and folded our pjs awww).

We started the day by having brunch at Porch and Parlour. It's in such a great location (right next to the beach) but this also meant a long wait time (we also accidentally missed our names being called because we had trekked it to Bondi Wholefoods to get some mango/mint smoothies mmm).

Nevertheless we finally managed to snag some seats and ordered a Kool Noodle Salad (cold udon noodles with cucumber, sesame, avocado, cashew, lime, szechuan dressing) and a Fish Burger (seared fish fillet with dill tartare, sprouts, baby spinach, fresh tomato salsa). Maybe it was because we were starving and hadn't had any proper food for a couple of hours but it was absolutely DELICIOUS and we struggled to finish despite how tasty everything was (the portion sizes were HUGE).

Next up Nina wanted to see the Icebergs so we took a leisurely stroll across the beach until it started to rain and we had to leg it over to the pool.

It's such a gorgeous pool and I would kill to be able to swim in it everyday.

Cute sister shot ;)

We spent the rest of the day hiding in the Bondi Junction Westfield and doing a spot of shopping. Funny/awkward story, we were waiting for a bus to take us from the beach to the Westfield, however all the buses were full and the lines to get on one were massive and it was still bucketing down with rain at this time so we decided to call an Uber. However, I wasn't sure if the app was working as it kept freezing on me and suddenly a man in a black car drove up to us and asked if we wanted to get in. This freaked us OUT because WHO WAS THIS STRANGE MAN AND HOW DID HE KNOW MY NAME? Eventually he revealed himself to be our Uber driver and all was well haha.

Dinner was prosciutto and rocket pizza and spaghetti at a quaint restaurant in The Rocks.

  1. Mhmm, all the food looks so good.
It's so nice to see a city we live in with different eyes when
someone who doesn't live there comes visiting. ;)
